The major sources of these early records were church marriage registers and the index to South Australian marriage certificates. Newspapers of the day supplied additional records.
Weddings before civil registration commenced (mid 1842) and others recorded in church marriage registers but not submitted to the Registrar of Births, Deaths & Marriages are included together with the church denomination, placename and full marriage date. Also, the maiden names of previously married women have often been determined. All of these sources are subject to errors, many of which have been corrected in our data. If you find any remaining, please let us know at email@example.com
