The World War I deaths of more than 6,600 SA servicemen (diggers) who died overseas also include South Australians who enlisted in other Australian states, New Zealand and Britain. All South Australian ANZAC deaths in service are included. Deaths at Gallipoli can be listed separately.

The sources include the district copies of the South Australian birth, marriage & death registrations, indexes of the interstate bmd certificates, the Australian War Memorial, Commonwealth War Graves Commission and National Archives of Australia web sites, unit histories, and various others.
