The early settler arrival, birth and marriage databases are simultaneously searched for matches to the entered family surname. Using our advanced technology, the records found are automatically sorted into family groups to help you visualize the line you're researching. This should make it easier to construct the branches of your family tree.
Most of the spelling errors and inconsistencies in the original source documents have been corrected. Any that remain may give out-of-order search results.
Many of the unregistered marriages and births are included. Note that 'Ade' is frequently used as an abbreviation for Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, whereas the bracketed '(Ade)' refers to the BDM registration district of Adelaide.
The three individual components of this colonial pioneers database give more information on sources and acknowledgments:—
Early shipping and passenger arrivals,
Births (1836 to 1860),
Marriages (1836 to 1857).
If you are unable to find the arrival you require, see our directory of SA shipping & migration resources.
