If you have pioneer ancestors who had already arrived in South Australia by 1860, or might have, just fill in their family surname and click the Search SA Pioneers button or press Enter.
The three online databases (early settler arrivals, births and marriages) are simultaneously searched for matches to the entered pioneer family surname. The records found are automatically sorted into family groups to help you visualize the line you're researching. Family group sheets can now be completed if you wish.
These pioneer settlers are sometimes referred to as old colonists.
Unregistered births and marriages, mostly from church records of baptism and marriage, are included.
Many of the spelling errors and inconsistencies in the original source documents have been corrected in our records. Any that remain may give useful but out-of-order search results. If you discover any of these errors, please let us know at email@example.com so that we can amend the data.
The individual components of this colonial pioneers database give more information on sources and acknowledgments:
If you are unable to find a particular pioneer's arrival, see our directory of SA shipping & migration resources to help locate another source.
