Combined databases

If you have pioneer ancestors who might have already arrived in South Australia by 1860, search on their family surname to find any matches in this combined database. Don't be misled by the apparent simplicity of the search form. It's highly proficient as well as easy to use. The three individual components,
  1. early settler arrivals in SA 1836 to 1858 (incomplete),
  2. early SA marriages 1836 to July 1857 (complete), and
  3. early South Australian births 1836 to 1860 (complete),
are simultaneously searched for any matches to the name you entered.

Family groups

Using our locally developed technology, the records found are automatically sorted into family groups to help you visualize the line you're researching. Family group sheets may now be updated.

Unregistered births and marriages, mostly from church baptism and marriage records, are included.

The individual components of this combined database give more information on sources and acknowledgments.

Corrected Errors

Many of the spelling errors and inconsistencies in the original source documents have been corrected in our records. Any that remain may give useful but out-of-order search results. If you discover any of these, please let us know at leadbeater@ozemail.com.au so that we can amend the data where necessary.

If you are unable to find a particular pioneer's arrival, see our directory of shipping & migration resources to help locate another source.
