If you have pioneer ancestors who may have already arrived in South Australia by 1860, search on their family surname to find any matches. Don't be misled by the apparent simplicity of this search form. The three component databases of (1) early settler arrivals, (2) births in SA, and (3) SA marriages, are simultaneously searched for any matches to the name you entered. The records found are automatically sorted into family groups to help you visualize the line you're researching. Family group sheets can now be filled in if you wish.
Unregistered births and marriages, mostly from church baptism and marriage records, are included.
Many of the spelling errors and inconsistencies in the original source documents have been corrected in our records. Any that remain may give useful but out-of-order search results. If you discover any of these errors, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can amend our data where necessary.
The individual components of this colonial pioneers database give more information on sources and acknowledgments.
